We were 4 days in the bear farm with our Labrador and felt more than comfortable. We really liked the peace in the country, the delicious food and the variety of offers for our dog. There are numerous hiking routes of different difficulty levels and lengths directly from the hotel. We were so excited that we will be going there again in a few weeks.

The Bärenhof is a dream for dogs and people! The owners are one of a kind! Very friendly, funny and helpful and they manage to make the vacation unforgettable. The food is simply delicious, the rooms are rustic and very clean. For dogs there is just everything: huge meadows for romping around, your own swimming ponds and an agility place. The location of the hotel is fantastic. In the middle of the Bavarian forest, surrounded by forest and meadows, you can walk walls for hours. I was there for the first time and it will not be the last time. Thank you Fam. Althaus for these wonderful days that we were able to spend with you.

Were here for the first time and would love to come back. Great innkeepers, delicious food, wonderful area for dog training or playing with the dog. We did not use the wellness area and dog training, but it is also possible here. Our apartment was in the annex. Everything was clean, only we found the apartment a little dark due to the small windows (probably corresponds to the earlier Bavarian construction).

Great hotel and restaurant for dog owners. You won't find more dog-friendly in Germany. Dog wellness, massage, own extension of 16 ha .... a true feast for every dog ​​and his boss. Food is good value for money. Local dishes with seasonal influence. The hunter brings the game fresh to the kitchen in the morning ... really enjoying it.

A table was still very nice and at short notice. Although you advertise with a lot of meat, two vegetarian dishes were available. Since the kitchen was apparently freshly prepared, we also had the feeling outside. To get something vegetarian on the menu. Price performance ratio was also right.

Holidays away from stress and bustle. Secluded near the Czech border, the Bärenhof offers a fantastic vacation time, especially with a dog. We were eating here today. The reception was really very friendly by all. At the window seats you have a nice view. We had the stag goulash and the grill plate with 3 different sorts of meat. Any time. 👍 The dog friendly hotel  ... on the edge of the national park in a quiet location on the edge of the forest at approx. 1000m altitude, offers you everything you need to feel good, relax and spend your vacation with your dog. The rooms and apartments are state-of-the-art and of course dog-friendly with bowls, dog blankets over the sofa and, if desired, dog beds. The multi-room apartments offer space for 3-5 people in one or two separate bedrooms. The guests can use the comfort of two saunas all year round, by prior arrangement. Our large meadow invites you to relax with loungers and benches. On the entire 125,000 square meter (12 hectare) area, seating, at the bathing pond or on the wildflower meadow, invite you to linger. A short walk on the hotel's own premises is always possible. For rainy days you can use billiards, table football, darts and a small archery range, also indoors. Your dog lives with us for free, of course. For the exercise of your dogs is provided on our in-house, directly at the house and forest and 60,000m² large dog meadow. Or you can use our fenced-in exercise area (unfortunately not usable in winter due to the snow depths of 1-1.5m) to romp around, as well as the adjacent woods for a short walk. We also offer a dog bathing pond and a covered dog exercise area. Dogs on a leash can also go into the restaurant or breakfast room. Of course, your dog should be educated and socially acceptable for people and other animals so that other guests and dogs can also enjoy their vacation. In summer we organize guided hikes through the Bavarian forest and the Sumava National Park. You will be accompanied by a family member who knows the area. Or enjoy your vacation with your dog in the Bavarian forest with our numerous hiking suggestions and excursion recommendations. In winter you can go out into the fluffy white with our snowshoes, or use our in-house dog trail for cross-country skiing or walking.
